Vehicolor 2K Primer is a high-performance, two-component polyurethane primer formulated for professional automotive refinishing. It delivers excellent leveling, easy sanding, and strong adhesion across various substrates, making it an ideal foundation for topcoat application.
Substrates
Can be applied over 2K putties, 2K epoxy primers, 2K wash primers, 1K etch primers, factory primers, and well-sanded old finishes. For best performance, the surface must be sanded, cleaned, and degreased.
Mixing Ratio
By volume: 3 parts primer : 1 part hardener : 1–1.5 parts thinner
By weight: 4 parts primer : 1 part hardener : 1–1.5 parts thinner
Pot Life
30 minutes at 23°C after mixing with hardener.
Spray Gun Tips
Nozzle: 1.7–1.8 mm
Conventional: 3.0–3.5 bar (45–50 psi)
HVLP: 2 bar (30 psi)
Spray Method
Application viscosity: 16–18 seconds (DIN Cup 4 at 23°C)
Apply 2–3 coats, total film thickness 40–60 μm
Flash-off time between coats: 5–10 minutes at 23°C
Drying Time
24 hours at 15°C
12 hours at 23°C
60 minutes at 60°C
Sanding
Machine sanding: P320–P400–P500
Wet sanding: P800 or P1000
Shelf Life
2 years in unopened containers when stored in cool, dry conditions.
