Vehicolor 1K Primer is a fast-drying, nitrocellulose-based primer formulated with a specialized resin blend, ideal for automotive surface repair. It’s specifically designed for quick fixes, offering excellent performance in filling minor imperfections, fine scratches, and surface blemishes.
Substrates
Can be applied over existing finishes and polyester putty. The surface must be thoroughly degreased before painting.
Mixing Ratio
1 part 1K primer to 1 part thinner (by weight).
Spray Gun Tips
Nozzle: 1.7–1.8 mm
Conventional: 3.0–3.5 bar (45–50 psi)
HVLP: 2 bar (30 psi)
Spray Method
Application viscosity: 16–18 seconds (DIN Cup 4 at 23°C)
Apply 2–3 coats with a total film thickness of 35–40 µm
Flash-off time between coats: 5–10 minutes at 23°C
Drying Time
45 minutes at 15°C
30 minutes at 23°C
Sanding
Wet sanding: P600–P800
Machine dry sanding: P400–P500
Shelf Life
2 years in unopened containers when stored in cool, dry conditions.
